Raymond Crawford Virtual Trunk Show
Well so much for making plans back in December 2019. Originally, we had planned for the Raymond Crawford Trunk Show to be in the shop this month and were anticipating a visit from Raymond. The plans were to show off the Hanukkah & Christmas Exclusive canvases that we commissioned him to design for us. Unfortunately, Covid 19 took over, the canvases and threads were all delayed. But the happy news is that we will be hosting a virtual trunk show of all of his great canvases. To view his full line, go to his website at http://www.raymondcrawford.com. As soon as Raymond sends us pictures of what he has in stock we will post them. Due to Covid 19 if you find something that you like on his website, we can order it for you. Adrienne & Gretchen have stitched and wrote stitch guides for these finials and we are waiting for the finished pieces to come in. Great holiday decorations. If you check the website Raymond also has Fall finials. In September Raymond will be debuting his Hanukkah finials. So many to choose from!

New Stitch Monday – Medallion Stitch
The Medallion stitch is a great stitch for a background if you are looking for something on the simpler side to stitch but gives you that decorative look at the same time. Gretchen used it for the background of the USA canvas by Associated Talents. She used a solid thread for the main part of the stitch and to give it a little sparkle added a metallic thread for the Upright Crosses in the center of each medallion. I think this would be a great stitch to use just about anywhere on your canvas. Give it a try.

New Susan Roberts Canvases
We hope you all have been enjoying our new “normal” summer. As our vacation winds down, we wanted to share some of the new Susan Roberts canvases that came in right before we left. Wednesday Staff Picks -Patti Mann – Summer Houses
I know what you are thinking, if we are on vacation why are we still posting on the blog and sending e-mails. Well the answer is we never stop looking for great needlepoint canvases especially if they are on sale. Today’s “Staff Pick” is this colorful Beach House canvas by Patti Mann. So many stripes you say, well a great book to have for this canvas is “Desert Island Stitches – Take Along Idea Books for Painted Canvas Embellishments”. It’s a great book to have especially if you have lots of stripes. Let us know if you would like a copy of the book. The canvas was originally priced at $363 and is now on sale for $291 (not including threads). If you would like us to kit it for you, we will give you 10% off of the threads. Send us an email and we will get back to you when the shop reopens on August 4th.
New Stitch Monday – Alternating Cross & Upright Cross Stitch
The Alternating Cross & Upright Cross stitch is another stitch that I found when I was working on the Needle Deeva Flag canvas. I used this stitch for the white stripes. I was looking for an easy stitch that would work well with the Alternating Cross & Mosaic stitch that I wrote about last week. Here again I used 4 strands of Splendor for both stitches. This stitch can also be jazzed up by adding a coordinating metallic thread or one that is a shade darker or lighter. Give it a try.
