Vanessa stitched this adorable circus set prior to her passing. We wanted to share the finished pieces with you.
Summer is officially here and what better way to enjoy these hot days is to have a nice slice of ice cold watermelon. While you are enjoying your snack why not stitch this fun watermelon canvas by Pippin. Once you are finished stitching this have it placed on a tote for you to enjoy next summer or have it made into a pillow for display during the summer months. The canvas was $153 and is now on sale for $123 (threads not included). If you would like us to kit your new project we will give you 10% off of the threads. Give the shop a call today so you can pick it up before we close for vacation.
I just started working on a Strictly Christmas stocking cuff for my son in law and I had great plans of sharing 2 new stitches with you. I wanted one for the top that would give a snow like look and one for the bottom that would also have a snowy look. Unfortunately, that did now work out. I must have tried 4 – 5 different stitches. To say the least I am totally frustrated. So today I will share one of my all-time favorites of “keeping it simple stitches”.
The T-stitch is a great stitch to use just about anywhere. I usually use it as a background stitch when I want the main theme of the canvas to pop & the background to be in the background. If your sky background is light sky blue a great thread to use is Waterlilies “Ice” # 044. It is an overdyed thread. For 18 count canvases use 4 strands and for 13 count use 6 strands. Where ever you choose to use this stitch I am sure you will be please. Just remember to follow the pattern of how this stitch should be done. You will notice a slight difference if you change the direction on the front of your canvas.
Give it a try.

Start planning some of your stitching while we are on vacation. We just received some great Cooper Oaks canvases. Send us an e-mail or give us a call if something catches your eye!
Now that it is summer it’s time to start planning your stitching for the next season. We have a really fun Staff Pick this week. Basic stitches would be great for this canvas and by adding some beads and winter themed charms this will become a favorite family piece. You can finish this as a stand-up with an easel back or as a stand-up with embellishments on top. As soon as the Winter Solstice comes bring it out!
The canvas is on sale for $148 (without threads) . If you want us to kit it for you we will give you 10% off of the threads.
Have you picked your favorite Needle Crossings canvas yet? Time is running out. We will continue to host the Virtual Trunk Show through July 17th. We are offering 20% off of the canvases. To view their full line of canvases go to http://www.needlecrossings.com.
Here’s a taste of some of their great canvases.
I was looking for a new stitch that would look like snow for the top of a stocking that I was working on. Since I didn’t want to add the name on top, I also wanted it to be a fancy border. I used the Star Octagon stitch. My canvas was 18 count so I did the base stitch in Vineyard Silk and to give it a little sparkle I used Petite Sparkle Rays for the Smyrna Cross in the center. You can adapt this stitch to 13 count as well. I didn’t number the base stitch because I feel that this is one of those stitches that you need to set up the pattern in a way that you are comfortable stitching it. Do the base stitch first then and the Smyrna Cross. Give it a try.
