We just love when new canvases start arriving in the shop.  Here are the new Pepperberry canvases that we have in stock.

 Staff Pick Wednesday – Potting Flowers

For today’s staff pick we have this colorful gardening canvas.  To help bring this canvas to life consider doing the flowers with a variety of ribbons.  Some of the ribbon stitches that can be used for the flowers is the Spider Web Rose stitch, French Knot Rose stitch, Twisted Ribbon stitch, French Knots and the Lazy Daisy stitch.  For the leaves the Stab or Padded Straight stitch would work.  Do the window with the T-stitch using Kreinik #32.  Need more ideas just let us know.  The canvas is on sale today for $175.

New Stitch Monday – Composite Bargello Line 1

The Bargello Line stitch is always a popular one to use.  One thing we like to do is to see how we can change the stitch a little and add some sparkle to it as well.   So now we have the Composite Bargello Line 1 stitch.  Adrienne used this stitch on her Whimpsy & Grace pumpkin using 4 different colored threads, see picture below,  that complemented each other. She alternated between a darker orange thread with a coordinating metallic thread then changed to a lighter orange with a coordinating metallic thread.  This stitch really jazzed up her pumpkin.   Another  thread idea is to do the main stitch with an over-dyed thread and use either a darker or lighter coordinating thread or ribbon.  Have some fun and play around with your threads to get the perfect look for your canvas.
