New Stitch Monday – Stitches for Snow
The seasons are changing, the aroma of the fireplaces is lingering in the air so winter is on my mind. This week I thought I would share some stitches that I think are good when you are stitching snow. You should choose your threads based on if you canvas is 18 or 13 count. Some threads that would give you the look of snow are Entice, Snow, Kreinik and Silk Lame Braid. I also like to blend threads so for an 18-count canvas I might use 3-4 strands of Splendor and 1 strand of Silk Lame Braid Petite or 2 strands of Accentuate. You may need to play around with the threads until you get the look you want. You can also alternate between the metallic threads and your base thread. Give them a try!
