We hope that everyone is home safe & healthy.  With all this time we are sure you are getting a lot of stitching done!  The one great thing about our needlepoint is that it keeps our minds busy and helps calm us down. For the past few weeks, I haven’t been able to keep up with the blog because of heath issues with my parents, I fell and fractured 2 ribs and we are all dealing with the Coronavirus.  The one fortunate thing is we all have our needlepoint to keep our minds and hands busy.  There will be a lot of finished projects in the coming months.

As with many stores we need the support of our wonderful stitching community.  We will be closed to the public but for now will still be able to accept orders via email or by leaving a message.  We will gladly put your order together for curbside pickup or we can mail it to you.  We are also offering free shipping with all orders over $75.   For our local stitchers we will be happy to drop items off to your house if you live in the following towns, Midland Park, Wyckoff, Glen Rock, Ridgewood, Oakland, Ramsey & Mahwah.

I haven’t had a chance to look at all the new canvases the designers are posting on their websites but will be able to do that within a few days.  For now, take a peek at your favorite designers and see if there is a canvas calling your name.  Let us know and we will order it for you.  There will be a 20% discount on all new “Spring 2020” canvases.

Introducing Ridgewood Needlepoint’s “Patriotic Heart” Club 2020

We invite you to join our new Patriotic Heart Club.  The club includes 4 hearts designed by Needle Deeva.  With your first shipment you will receive one heart, the introduction guide, the stitch guide for that heart, along with the complete thread & bead kit for all 4 hearts.

You will be charged $119 plus shipping for the first heart.  For the next 3 months you will be sent a heart & the stitch guide.  For shipments 2 & 3 you will be charged $55 plus shipping and you will receive the final heart at no charge.  In addition, there is no charge for the finishing of one of the hearts.

There are many ways that you can finish the hearts.  One way is to finish them as Hearts on a Stick and display them in the flag if you have it finished as a cylinder.  They can also be finished as ornaments or a garland.  How will you finish them?

Along with everyone else, we here at Ridgewood Needlepoint would like to be cautious.  We have decided to suspend all Stitch & Chats, Social Stitching, this month’s Book Club and the upcoming Beginner Class until further notice.  We will be open today until 2:00 pm and anticipate having our regular store hours next week.  We do advise you to call the shop before coming.  If you are looking for supplies or threads send us an email, call the shop or leave a message should we be closed.   We will check on your request, pull the items if they are in stock and have them ready for you to pick up or  we can ship them to you.

The Jerusalem Cross stitch is very similar to the Rice stitches that I wrote about a few weeks ago.  The base line for the Rice stitch is a cross stitch and the base line for the Jerusalem Cross stitch is an upright cross.  As with the Rice stitch there are many ways that you can change the look of this stitch by using over-dyed threads or adding metallic threads.   Give them a try.
