Stitcher of the Month
Maribel Menendez
Meet Maribel
Maribel has been stitching since 2003. She is always a pleasure to see in the store. She is a passionate person with needlepoint and does beautiful work. She is always smiling, friendly, and happy.
Maribel is a previous knitter/crocheter (is that a word?) She really got serious with needlepoint around three years ago, but it all started back in our old location in Ridgewood. She started taking classes to learn different techniques. Some of her favorite artists are: Melissa Shirley, Scott Church, Machelle Somerville and Charley Harper is one of her newest interests. She loves working with Baroque Silk, Silk Lame, Pepper Pot, and Planet Earth. Her essential tools are a good pair of scissors, a laying tool, magnets, and beading needles (made by Bohin). All of Maribel’s canvases are stored in her guestroom closet hung on hangers in garment bags. Threads are stored in floss away bags and grouped on rings by color. Her New Years resolution is to work on ONLY 3 WIPS at a time. You can view all of her needlepoint this month. It will be displayed at the shop till the end of January.
“I just want to say that Ridgewood Needlepoint has provided a truly enjoyable place to bond with lovely and talented fellow stitchers”.
